Atoll - iron green collared jar
This medium size collared jar was wheel thrown by Rowley from porcelain clay. It is glazed with Iron green & ash glazes. It was then side fired on sea shells in one of the anagama kilns at Quixotica, over several days and nights. Later, it was fired once again in the gas kiln, to perfect the glaze surface.
The resulting piece has impactful glaze and shell markings, with heavier iron green glaze at the top and the lighter shades of porcelain showing through underneath, It has a small opening at the top, making it a beautiful vessel for flowers, long stems and delicate branches.

All work is hand made by Rowley Drysdale in his studio at Quixotica Art Space in Cooroy on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland. As all pieces are one of a kind, slight variations in size, glaze and design will occur.
