Whether you are new to ceramics, or want to develop existing skills and style, these sessions will be tailored to your needs. Rowley will provide personal tuition in small groups of up to six students each term, focusing on throwing and assembling techniques with additional information shared about firing and glazing, as required by each student. This is a great opportunity to learn from one of Australia’s most experienced ceramic artists and educators, so be quick to book your spot.

You should bring your own white stoneware clay for these classes. Please also bring your own ceramic hand tools if you have them, or you can make use of those at Quixotica. Tea and coffee will be provided.

FEEDBACK from students at Rowley's recent wheel throwing classes

Thank you so much Sarah and Rowley🤗 It was truly a privilege to be part of your world of learning and thank you for sharing your beautiful space with us.
Debb, Brisbane, Qld - Wheel Throwing Classes - Feb/March 2022

I want to thank you both for a great 6 weeks of throwing. To say I am inspired is not the full story. I think I went into the course wanting to refine my techniques to achieve success but with only a vague idea of what I wanted to make. That was questioned straight away and I now have a good idea of what I want to concentrate on - urns and jugs predominantly. In addition, I was truly inspired by the fine underglaze work that Sarah does, in particular. I think the fine work and fine detail suits my temperament (and likes) to a T. I am now more confident that I can work towards producing the thrown work to complement it, or vice versa, can complement my thrown work. As you say, Rowley, what I need now is practice. Many happy days ahead in my little garden shed.

the Raku lesson at the end was the absolute icing on the cake. Had been looking forward to it from the very beginning and loved what I took home.
Thank you!

I enjoyed your teaching approach of allowing each person to explore what they wanted to. It's a lot like riding a bike and with a little correction the motor skills kick in. You most certainly have an eye for correction and a major skill set to inform your teaching! Thanks for your wisdom sharing and love the space at Quixotica!

The course was just sheer joy for me. Seeing everyone's different ways of doing things and just generally being in the studio bring me so much happiness. Thank you again for all of your generous advice and help throughout the course.

The classes were thoroughly enjoyable, not to mention constructive (thanks for being so patient with the rookie!) and I'll definitely recommend your workshops and Quixotica to who ever I can.
